Safety & Consideration
Forest Fringe Farm is a shared, working landscape. Your awareness and care help keep both people and land safe.
Land Awareness
The terrain is uneven, wet in places, and naturally rugged. Watch your footing, especially after rain, near water, on slopes, and at dusk or night. Use headlamps or flashlights after dark, as lighting is minimal.
Weather & Exposure
Conditions can change quickly. Stay hydrated, take breaks in shade during heat, and layer appropriately in cooler weather. Seek shelter during storms and follow any guidance shared by hosts.
Fire Safety
Open flames are only permitted in designated areas and only when conditions allow. Never leave fires unattended, and fully extinguish them after use. During dry periods, fire restrictions may apply.
Wildlife & Plants
The farm is home to deer, bears, birds, insects, amphibians, and other wildlife. Observe without disturbing. Avoid feeding animals. Some plants may cause irritation—when in doubt, don’t touch.
Respecting Infrastructure
Compost toilets, water systems, and shared facilities are part of a delicate ecological system. Please follow posted instructions and use resources mindfully.
Community Care
Forest Fringe Farm centers mutual respect. Be mindful of noise levels, shared spaces, and consent—especially during residencies and gatherings. Ask before photographing or recording others.
Personal Responsibility
Guests are responsible for their own safety and belongings. Bring any medications, mobility supports, or personal care items you may need. If something feels unsafe, trust your instincts and reach out to a host.
Leave No Trace
Pack out what you pack in. Dispose of waste properly, recycle when possible, and leave spaces as you found them—or better.
Safety at Forest Fringe Farm is collective. Thoughtful presence ensures the land remains welcoming for all who pass through.
