Getting Around the Property
Forest Fringe Farm is long, narrow, and shaped by seasonal water. Movement across the site follows natural contours—expect walking to be part of the experience.
Site Layout
Main zones (from parking to back of property):
- Parking area (gravel driveway)
- First meadow (main gathering/event space)
- Campsite (canopy under trees)
- Second meadow (greenhouse, blueberry orchard)
- Activities deck ("The Hex")
- Production studio (slope sink, outdoor shower, composting toilet)
- Forest edges and wetlands (walking/exploration areas)
Approximate distances:
- Parking to campsite: 3–5 minute walk
- Campsite to activities deck: 2–3 minutes
- Deck to composting toilet: 1–2 minutes
- Full property end-to-end: ~10–12 minutes
Paths & Terrain
Informal footpaths connect all zones.
- Not paved, graveled, or maintained like trails
- Uneven ground with roots, leaf litter, soft earth
- Muddy after rain or during spring
- Some areas have standing water seasonally
Expect:
- Slow, intentional walking
- Watching your footing (especially at dusk)
- Natural obstacles (logs, roots, tall grass)
Walking is not just transition—it's part of the experience. Build extra time into schedules for movement between zones.
Footwear & Safety
Essential:
- Waterproof boots or hiking shoes with good traction
- Headlamp or flashlight after dark (minimal lighting on site)
Safety tips:
- Watch footing on slopes and near wet areas
- Move slowly at dusk/night
- Stay on established paths where possible
- Avoid trampling planted areas or sensitive zones
Vehicle Access
Vehicles are restricted to parking area.
- No driving onto meadows or campsite
- Parking space limited to 10–12 vehicles
- All site movement after parking is on foot
This keeps the land protected, quiet, and safe.
Respecting the Land
While moving around:
- Stay on paths where they exist
- Avoid walking through planted or marked areas
- Don't disturb wildlife habitats
- Move gently—land is actively regenerating
